[JLCS-Information:0245] 新刊紹介:LCD表示方式と各種部材の最新技術動向を網羅した書籍が英国工学技術学会(IET)から出版されました。

今や液晶ディスプレイは日常生活で、無くてはならないものになっています。そして、最近ではアンテナ、スマートウィンドウやセンサーなどディスプレイ以外への応用展開も積極的に進められています。この度、液晶、配向膜、半導体などの材料、バックライト、各種表示方式などの開発や、高画質化技術を網羅した書籍が英国工学技術学会(The Institution of Engineering and Technology)より出版されました。タイトルは、「High Quality Liquid Crystal Displays and Smart Devices」であり、2巻の構成となっております。
本書籍は、全部で41章で構成されており、42名の日本人(大部分は日本液晶学会会員)を含め、世界中から約70名の方が寄稿しています。単なる最新技術紹介だけでなく、開発の流れの中で直面した様々な壁をいかに乗り越えてきたかという点についても書かれており、若手からベテランまで幅広く、研究者・技術者に役立つものとなっております。
